A metal disc played with mallets, with a sound that builds and changes as it resonates. Soft strokes and fuller swells bring depth and contrast.
Steel tongue drum
Melodic · rounded · gently rhythmic
The cut sections of this metal drum each produce a tuned note when struck. Soft mallets bring out rounded tones and simple, flowing melodies.
Ocean drum
Rolling · flowing · wave-like
Small beads move inside the drum as it tilts, creating a wash like the sea. The movement can be a quiet ripple or a fuller rolling wave.
Chimes
Light · bright · delicate
Small tuned metal elements ring as the chime moves. Their light, bell-like notes add delicate detail between longer sounds.
Seed shaker
Organic · textured · softly rhythmic
Dried seed shells touch as the instrument moves, producing a soft, textured rustle. A slow shake adds a gentle pulse alongside the longer notes.
